Craig's Story
Craig came to Alabaré Place and our Drop In Centre after being street homeless for some time. Sadly Craig found it hard to adjust to living inside and he returned to the streets with his dog, Buzz.
After six months of living back on the streets, Craig felt that he was ready, both mentally and emotionally, to make positive changes in his life. He asked to be given a second chance and within 48 hours we were delighted to be able to offer Craig and Buzz a room.
Craig accepted the help he was offered, including specialist support to address his drug and alcohol misuse. His self esteem and confidence improved and he went from strength to strength - both mentally and physically he started to flourish.
Despite ups and downs along the way Craig continued to do well and in time was ready to look for his own flat; a real acknowledgement of all his hard work. Craig was thrilled when he and Buzz moved into their new home in August.
“Alabaré have offered me the hope that I needed. They have given me the chance to get my life back on track and without them I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
