Veterans' Foundation Support
Armed Forces veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness will benefit from a new grant of £10,000 to Alabaré Homes for Veterans from the Veterans’ Foundation.
The funds will help to provide accommodation and a friendly and supportive environment for vulnerable ex-service personnel. Additionally the grant will also improve Veterans’ social and economic wellbeing, supporting them to enhance their skills to provide them with the best opportunity of obtaining employment.
Alabaré’s Homes for Veterans provide accommodation and support for Veterans who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Their services include 23 Homes for Veterans across the South and South West of England and across Wales, which can collectively house 115 Veterans at any one time. The first Home for Veterans opened in Plymouth in 2009 and today are the largest provider of supported housing for homeless Veterans of working age outside of London.
Andrew Lord, Alabaré Chief Executive said;
“We are incredibly grateful for the support we have received from the Veterans’ Foundation. Thanks to their financial support we have been able to provide much needed accommodation to ex-service personnel in need of help. We hope to continue working in partnership with them in to the future as we strive to improve the lives of Veterans.”
