Thank You Norbert!
We would like to thank Norbert Weber, who has raised almost £500 for our services after completing his first ever marathon by running from Salisbury to Bournemouth!
The incredible feat saw Norbert, who is originally from Serbia but now lives in Salisbury, set off from Avon Lee lodge at just after 7am on Wednesday 3rd June before making his way to the Bournemouth Lower Gardens and arrive shortly before 5pm.
It was the first time Norbert had ever ran more than 36km and his feat was made even more impressive given that he only began training on the 1st May.
Norbert said the run was dedicated to:
"My family members who died in the past and anyone who is still alive, friends and cousins all over the World. All vulnerable people who are affected by many crises: Covid-19, mentally and emotionally disorders, financial, homeless, victims of abuse. And finally for peace all over the world."
Upon his arrival in Bournemouth, Norbert was also able to visit one of Alabaré’s services for Young People. Alabaré currently run two homes in Bournemouth which provides accommodation for a total of nine young people aged 16-25 who are either homeless, at risk of becoming so or those who have left the care system.
