School Girl Raises Over £8,000 For Alabaré!

We would like to say a huge thank you to Anna Harrison-Topham, who has raised over £8,000 for our Coronavirus Emergency Appeal!

Anna, who is 13 and from North Yorkshire, regularly competes in sporting events – which all came to a sudden halt due to the Coronavirus lockdown.   Rather than sit around feeling frustrated she set herself a new goal – to run a half marathon for charity, achieved by embarking on two separate 7.5 mile runs.

After much research, which she did online by herself, she concluded that Alabaré would be the charity that she would like to support.

Anna was adamant that she should support Alabaré, as she explained:

"The Homeless are the most vulnerable to Covid -19 with nowhere to isolate, and no sanitation to wash their hands, no food and no hope.”

Anna’s mum Jo added:

“I wondered about asking our friends, family and colleagues to donate to a charity that we did not personally know, and was not in Yorkshire, nor nationally recognised, but concluded that it could be justified as there are so many people who are homeless and in need, and they all need help wherever they are”

Everyone at Alabaré is incredibly grateful for Anna's amazing support! To find out more about Anna's fundraising, you can visit her JustGiving page here.
