Reaction To New Government Plan To Tackle Homelessness

Alabaré welcome today’s announcement from the government that a £100m strategy will aim to end rough sleeping in England by 2027.

We believe that the Rough Sleeping Strategy’s three part approach of prevention, integration and recovery is a positive step towards providing greater all round care to those who are homeless or at risk of becoming so.

However this measure will not end homelessness all together and greater steps must be taken to tackle wider issues such as the lack of affordable housing and the provision of specialist support services.
