Old Sarum Café - Behind the scenes

We were delighted, at last, to invite treasured guests to our soon to be open Old Sarum Café on Saturday 25th September for a behind the scenes event ahead of the café's opening.

Over 20 guests joined us for afternoon tea at the new café in the grounds of Old Sarum Garden Centre on a lovely sunny afternoon where we showed off the plans for the Café while they chatted with the team.

In 2019, we began planning and developing this new training kitchen and café for the Old Sarum Garden Centre, which involved upcycling two shipping containers to provide training for learning development clients that include working towards both retail and catering qualifications. This will allow our clients to develop a range of practical skills while also increasing their confidence and making them feel more at ease in a working environment. It will also make the garden centre an even more attractive place to visit, allowing customers, or clients and their friends and families a dedicated space to enjoy some delicious refreshments and a place to relax.

Despite the challenges of the last two years, we now have a new Café Co-ordinator in post and we hope to open once restrictions and training allow.

We have to thank our funders and the local community who have supported us so far, these include NationwideBaily ThomasSCORESouthern Wiltshire Area Board and Laverstock and Ford Parish Council. We also secured several pledges from community fundraisers who were invited along on the 25th. We look forward to bringing you more news soon.
