Michelle Donelan MP Visits Our Services
We were delighted to welcome MP for Chippenham, Michelle Donelan to visit our Young People's services.
Michelle spent time speaking with our Young people on a variety of issues including housing and employment opportunities.
The topics discussed also included the importance of preventing homelessness, mental health support and better career support in schools. Representatives from our Supported Housing North scheme - Unity House were present as well as staff from our Young People Leaving Care service.
Michelle Donelan MP said;
“I became an MP to enable people to achieve and broaden their opportunities - especially the vulnerable and needy. That is exactly what Alabaré do day in day out - transform lives.
We must do everything we can to prevent and stop homelessness plus ensure all young people get the start in life that they deserve. I shall continue to support Alabaré and work with them on any cases that they refer to me.”
Vanessa Bedford, Alabaré's Operations Manager for Children and Young People, said;
"Michelle’s visit was greatly appreciated by our service users, who were able to spend time discussing the issues that matter most to them. We are incredibly grateful to have her support our work in helping the most vulnerable in the local community ”
