Lifetime Achievement Award For Our Founder
Huge congratulations to our founder and Chairman Reverend John Proctor who was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the prestigious Wiltshire Life Awards on Friday 24th March.
John's award came in recognition of the incredible contribution that he has made in providing life changing help for homeless and vulnerable people in our communities over the last 25 years.
In 1991, John and his wife Alicia (pictured above with Alabaré Chief Executive Andrew Lord) founded our charity in response to the growing need that they saw to help homeless people and those living in crisis, having personally housed a number of people who had no where else to turn. Since then, they have seen the charity grow to help over 2,500 people every year, providing homes for young mothers and their babies, adults and young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, adults with learning disabilities, Armed Forces Veterans and young people leaving Care.
"I was surprised to receive this award but it has been my lifetime ministry. I want to pay tribute to my wife and family who have not only enabled me but supported me throughout the last 30 years. Also the efforts of Andrew Lord our Chief Executive and all the staff both past and present who have given of themselves to support some of the most vulnerable members of our society."
