#HomesNotStreets This Christmas
Today we are launching our Winter appeal – Homes not Streets at Christmas. We believe that no one should spend Christmas on the streets and are asking for your support to make this a reality.
Martin Field, our Director of Campaigns says;
“Christmas is a time when our homes come together, even more so to share experiences and help each other through difficult times. No person’s journey is straight forward, but being able to share those ups and downs is so valuable to all of us. And the best place to do that is around the dinner table! “
This year we are asking people to make a donation which would cover the cost of a shared meal. A shared meal whatever the time of year, is something that we believe is integral to the recovery of the homeless and vulnerable people we support every day. Someone like Louise, who we have helped this year. You can read Louise's story by clicking here.
- £28 to will provide food for a shared meal in one of our Alabaré Homes. A Christmas lunch with all the trimmings, a winter hot-pot or a summer barbecue. But for those making the difficult journey from the street to their home it will always be special.
- £175 pays for a support worker for a day to help someone like Louise put their life back together, move into their own home and say goodbye to the street for good.
