Green Light For Second Gloucestershire Home For Veterans

We are delighted that the board of the Gloucestershire Planning Committee unanimously approved our application to open a second Home for Veterans in the city, this time in Longlevens.  The opening of this home will mean that Gloucestershire Homes for Veterans can now support 12 vulnerable veterans in Gloucester who have previously struggled in their transition to civilian life.

We are proud to be able to help ex-Armed Forces personnel in their city who have fallen on hard times.  Gloucester has a proud military tradition with The Rifles and The Glosters playing key roles in the local community.  During the planning meeting, several councillors spoke of being glad to have this facility on their doorstep to be able to help those who have protected our country. Cllr Andy Lewis had this to say;

"This building is for people who have been fighting for us and seeing horrible things on our behalf, if we can't welcome them back into our society then I think something is very wrong. I would be proud to live next door to this place and would happily help them."
