Celebrities join Alabaré for the Big Sleep at Home

Well-known names from the television, literary and military world are joining the Alabaré team and our supporters virtually this Friday 5th March to celebrate the Big Sleep at Home.  The event will see at least two hundred people give up the comfort of their own bed for one night to help rise vital funds to help those who have faced the crisis of losing their home.

Big Sleepers will be able to join a packed evening of music, interviews and activities online whilst supporting this most serious of causes.

Any Big Sleepers who are concerned about their sleeping arrangements for the event, should not worry, as they will be able to tune in to hear tv presenter ex-SAS Major Ken Hames kick off the evening with a fun den building tutorial, for Big Sleepers of all ages.

Ex-Blue Peter presenter and children’s author Konnie Huq will host a quiz for the charity’s younger Big Sleepers, with participants in with a chance of winning some of her books. They will also be able to listen to a bedtime “Elvis a Tale of Kindness and Hope” by Helen May Brian which is read by actor Stephen Kynman, who is the voice of Fireman Sam.

Later in the evening local award-winning author Barney Norris will present a quiz for the older Big Sleepers.  Barney will also be reading a good night story from one of his acclaimed novels. While the Right Reverend Dr Andrew Rumsey, the Bishop of Ramsbury will be leading the blessing on the evening.

The whole evening will be raising funds to help Alabaré provide vital support to those facing incredible difficulties during the pandemic and beyond.  During the evening Big Sleepers will also hear from those who have benefited from the vital support that Alabaré and their supporters make possible, as well as be able to ask Alabaré's CEO Andrew Lord questions about the services the charity offers.

With just a couple of days left available to sign up, you are invited to learn more at https://thebigsleepathome.eventbrite.co.uk
