Armed Forces Covenant Grant For Alabaré Plymouth Homes For Veterans.

We are delighted to announce the Armed Forces Covenant has awarded a grant of £20,000 for Alabaré’s Homes for Veterans in Plymouth.

Alabaré Homes for Veterans offers support for men and women across the UK who have left active service and who are experiencing difficulty adapting to civilian life.  We help those who are homeless or at risk of being homeless, providing accommodation and tailored support to help them rebuild their lives.

At Alabaré we recognise the unique journey taken by those in the Armed Forces and the need for specialist support for Veterans, provided by our staff who have a good understanding of their background and individual needs.  Veterans may find it hard to deal with the lack of support network and social isolation after discharge, and for some this is combined with issues such as depression, PTSD, ill health, unemployment, family breakdown or similar.

Our Homes for Veterans across England and Wales support over 200 Veterans every year, helping them to gain the skills and confidence they need to move on to independent and fulfilling lives.

One of our residents said:

“Plymouth Homes for Veterans has been fantastic. I have made lifelong friends here who have supported me through the hardest times. I am now able to positively move on with my life.”
