Our Annual General Meeting this year was held on Wednesday 13th July and took place at St Pauls Church, Salisbury. Not only was it a time of discussing business but it was an afternoon of celebration and thankfulness, highlighting the ethos of the charity., Coming together, to hear stories from some of our inspirational service users, staff and volunteers. A really uplifting and moving afternoon.

John Proctor said of the AGM

I enjoyed the AGM immensely. The volunteer video shown during the meeting was excellent as were the client testimonials.

Café Delicious were there supplying the refreshments. There was an area where Barford and Old Sarum Development Centres were showcasing and selling their beautifully made crafts.

Robert Powell Award for Outstanding Achievement

Robert was an Alabaré Include service user who had battled addictions and mental health ill health for many years. Despite his own difficulties he went out of his way to support others and was a regular at both our snooker group and walking group. Robert sadly passed away. His Dad, Colin told us that Alabaré’s support had been they only constant in Robert’s life for many years and that the support we had given him had meant a great deal. We were named as one of two charities to benefit form money collected at Robert’s funeral. As Robert was completing our befriender training before he died, we used some of the money to buy training equipment, a projector and screen so that we could continue to deliver others. There was a small amount of money left and we felt that there would be no better way in keeping Robert’s memory alive than to have an annual award named after him. This recognises others who overcome their own difficulties and support others. The Robert Powell Award for Outstanding Achievement!
