The 2018 Alabaré Annual General Meeting and Celebrations took place on Thursday 12th July as staff, volunteers, trustees and ambassadors all gathered to reflect on the work of the charity over the past year.  Our period of reflection included a prayer led by our Senior Chaplain Keith Thomasson.

We heard from Alabaré Chairman, John Proctor, who provided his report on behalf of the trustees, Chief Executive Andrew Lord and the inspiring tales of Alabaré service users, whose lives have been transformed as a result of our work.

One of those was Michael, who said;

“I came to Alabaré four months ago as broken man. I struggled with addiction and none of my family were talking to me. I’m now completely clean and volunteer twice a week at the drop-in. The work of Alabaré is amazing as you genuinely care.”

Teams from across our services spoke of the work they have done in the past financial year as well as looking forward to our hopes and aspirations for the future. We also celebrated with the presentation of a number of awards for the dedicated service of our staff.

Andrew Lord, Alabaré Chief Executive, detailed why the event is so important;

"The AGM and annual celebrations allow us to reflect on the hard work of everyone involved within Alabaré over the past year. We are immensely proud of the role we serve in helping the most vulnerable in our community and today is a celebration for all of those that allow us to do so."
