Race To The Sun 2022

Race To The Sun 2022

04 May 2022 - 21 May 2022

A cycle event for changing lives: the ultimate adventure through three countries travelling up to 1300 miles over sixteen days to reach the towering rock synonymous with Gibraltar.

This incredible cycling adventure will take you from Salisbury, through a wealth of breath-taking scenery, through mountainous regions and sun-soaked valleys, until you reach the world-famous rock,  raising funds for socially excluded and homeless Veterans.

In addition to the challenging ride once in Gibraltar, 12 participants are sought to go up against the Gibraltar Regiment for a tug of war and similar deeds of strength and teamwork. Please let Ken know if you want to be part of this.

Are you up for breath-taking views, truly memorable experiences, and a great sense of collective and personal achievement?

Ken Hames and the team from Alabaré have created not one but two cycling challenges.

TEAM CATALAN -  The Challenge is a 1,300-mile cycle ride over 16 days starting from Salisbury, through France, the Pyrenees region and Spain, ultimately arriving in Gibraltar.

TEAM BROMPTON -  Joining the team at Biarritz, the Challenge is a 700-mile cycle ride over nine days, travelling through Spain to Gibraltar. The difference for this team is the opportunity and an additional challenge to experience your ride on a combination of road bikes and Bompton fold-away bikes.

It will cost £3000 to take part. Ken and Alabaré would like you to raise as much money as possible for our work with homeless and vulnerable Veterans. We ask you to raise a minimum of £2000.

All the profit from the Challenges will fund Alabaré’s Community Self-Build programme lead by Ken Hames.
