Laying the foundations for a more charitable future
19th April 2007
Pupils at South Wilts have been given a lesson in the work being carried out by Salisbury based charity Alabaré Christian Care Centres.
The School held a special Charity Fair on Friday (20th April) as part of their Citizenship Programme of Study. Organised by Year 8 students, the Main Hall was filled with stands from a number of charities, giving out information on what they do – and Alabare was one of them.
Representatives from Alabaré spoke to the pupils about the many projects they’ve set up across the region to combat homelessness.
There was also the chance for students to buy a template and build a brick with their name on. They could then decorate and place the brick, signifying the part they can play in helping vulnerable people to rebuild their lives
Community Fundraiser for Alabaré, Tony Richmond says “The Charity Fair at South Wilts is a great way for local Charities to interact with the younger generation as they think about the many issues raised.”
