Reading Male Voice Choir A musical treat for all

Reading Male Voice Choir, one of the South’s premier concert choirs, will be performing a unique and varied repertoire based on arrangements by their musical director, Gwyn Arch MBE, in Bemerton Heath Methodist Church, at 7.30pm on Saturday 5th July. The concert is being held in aid of local charity Alabaré Christian Care Centres, with funds raised going to support vulnerable adults and homeless people at Alabaré’s Salisbury Drop In Centre.
The Choir has an impressive history of accolades and awards including winner of the BBC’s national contest ‘Let the people sing’. Together they have performed at many national and international festivals with their amazing harmonies appealing to a wide range of audiences.
Now in their 37th season the choir has set itself an objective to help raise funds for charities and other worthwhile causes, and of course entertain their dedicated fan base of concert goers.
The Choir will be supported by singing sister duo Anna and Joy Ruff.

Reading Male Voice Choir - RMVC was founded in 1971 by Gwyn Arch. A Composition Fellow of Trinity College, London, and a Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music, Gwyn has composed and arranged hundreds of songs and choral works. He is one of the most frequently performed arrangers in the BBC's Choir of the Year competition. He is also the Musical Director of the very popular South Chiltern Choral Society. Gwyn was awarded the MBE for services to music in Berkshire in the 2006 Queens Birthday Honours List.
Alabaré Christian Care Centres is a regional charity, providing a range of services including supported housing, floating support services, drop-in centres, information, advice and training services and a registered care home. The charity works with the homeless, ex-offenders, young people, individuals with a learning difficulty, vulnerable women and people with drug and alcohol problems, aiming to assist them with realising their potential and becoming valued members of society. www.alabare.co.uk
