Alabaré Drop In Centre appealing for summer clothing

Local homelessness charity Alabaré Christian Care & Support is urgently appealing for donations of shorts and t-shirts to help them through the current heat wave.

The Manager of the Alabaré Place Salisbury Drop In Centre, explained: “We have many homeless and vulnerable people visiting our Drop In Centres who simply don’t have the money to buy themselves suitable clothes to wear during this weather. Wearing winter clothes in this heat, makes their already difficult lives even more uncomfortable, and can even be dangerous. We urgently need shorts, t-shirts and baseball caps to give to them.  Equally, we would be very grateful for any donations of bottled water that we could give out as often our clients don’t have access to fresh water, and so run the danger of dehydration in the heat. Thank you in advance for any help you can give us.”

Donations can be dropped to the Alabaré Charity shop in Catherine Street, or to the Alabaré Place Drop In Centre in Barnard Street.  Alternatively, larger donations can be collected by arrangement – please call 01722 322882 for more information.
