Plymouth Homes For Veterans Celebrates Inaugural Fundraising Event
Our team at Plymouth Homes for Veterans are celebrating this week after a successful fundraising event which was held at the spectacular Crownhill Fort. Guests, including the Lord Mayor of Plymouth, the Town Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Ivybridge, were treated to an evening of musical entertainment from local choirs The Tamar Concert Choir, Myxd Up Barbershop Quartet and the Plymouth Mayflower Chorus and tucked into mouth watering food provided by Orange Chilli Catering and Events.
The successful evening raised over £500 which will go directly to helping Plymouth Veterans who are struggling with the transition to civilian life.
As well as money raised from events such as this, our Plymouth Homes for Veterans relies on the generosity of larger trusts and charities, such as Help for Heroes and the Royal British Legion to facilitate their life changing work.
Annamaria Farkas, our Plymouth Community Fundraiser, said,
“We had such a wonderful evening and would like to say a huge thank you to all those who attended; their generosity, whether it was buying tickets, bidding on the raffle or donating on the night, will genuinely make a huge difference to the lives of our Veterans.
“We’d also like to express our gratitude to the amazing volunteers and local businesses who supported our first large scale event; Energie Fitness for Women, Plymouth Gin and Black Friars Distillery for their kind donations towards our raffle, Suzy J Video and Photography for helping to capture our special evening, and Orange Chilli Catering and Events for providing us with a stunning location and delicious catering.”
