Our Response To Supported Housing Consultation
The Government has stated that it is committed to protecting and boosting the supply of supported housing, ensuring it provides value for money and works for those who use it as well as those who pay for it. In November 2016, it launched a consultation - Funding for Supported Housing. This week, we were delighted to submit our response.
Andrew Lord, our CEO at Alabaré says;
“For the last 25 years, we have been providing supported housing to homeless and vulnerable across the South and South West of England, and Wales. Over that time, we have seen needs change and been able to explore different models of care and support.
We are delighted to contribute our experiences and expertise to this consultation process, as we strive to support the Government in their commitment to delivering a future model for funding Supported Housing which is sustainable, and allows us and our fellow providers to continue to transform the lives of those in most need in our communities.”
A copy of our response to the consultation is available here.
On Monday 20th February we will launch a report on the specific needs of homeless Veterans.
Further information about Alabaré’s research report the housing-related support needs of homeless veterans will be available here from Monday.
