Alabaré helping even more people rebuild their lives

Alabaré is continuing to expand the number of services it has to offer homeless and vulnerable adults with the addition of a new Move On property in Salisbury.
The three bedroom house was bought with the help of a £100,000 grant from Salisbury District Council. It is now home to three men who were ready to move on from Damascus House, Alabaré’s homeless hostel.
Move On properties provide accommodation for people who are making the transition from supported housing to independent living. Service users still receive support from a key worker and continue to develop the skills and confidence needed to live completely independently.
The new house is fully furnished and tastefully decorated thanks to many generous donations and the hard work of Alabaré’s Resettlement Worker Hannah Nash.
The three new residents were handed their keys earlier this week and are all delighted with their new home, they said “We would like to thank Alabaré Move On for this wonderful opportunity in a beautiful house, in a lovely peaceful environment. It is a perfect start for us all to rebuild our lives.”
Alabaré Operations Manager Janet Herring said “I would like to say a huge thank you to all who have made the purchase of this house a reality and to those whose hard work and generosity have helped make this house a home. It has been a lot of hard work, but to see the three men settling into their new home and rebuilding their lives makes it all worthwhile.”
Chief Exec, Andrew Lord, said “We are delighted to open this new move on home, as it extends the range of accommodation that we have to offer our service users. We are very grateful to Salisbury District Council for its support.”
Plans to purchase a further two Move On properties in Salisbury are in the pipeline.
