Mission: To provide 24-hour support to ten ex-offenders enabling them to move successfully on to independent living and break the cycle of crime, prison and homelessness.
Lazarus and Thomas Houses offer 24-hour supported accommodation to ten single male ex-offenders who are making the transition from life in prison to life in the community. They can stay for a maximum of six months before moving on to other Alabaré resettlement properties, such as Shalom or Charis Houses, or fully independent living.
Lazarus and Thomas Houses provide a safe, secure and homely environment and offer a planned programme of support and practical assistance. Service users are assigned a Key Worker who will help them draw up a support plan tailored to address their specific needs. Issues covered could include life skills training, relapse prevention, education and employment training, sexual abuse, drug and alcohol dependency and family relationships.
Outcomes for clients:
- Addressing their offending behaviour
- Addressing alcohol and drug issues and accessing rehabilitation programmes
- Improved daily living skill and access to other day services
- Personal development and dealing with issues from their past/childhood
- Increased awareness around physical and mental health issues
