Join the campaign #HOMESNOTSTREETS
For twenty five years, Alabaré have been providing housing and support to homeless people, reaching out to those who, for whatever reason, have been left destitute and homeless.
But changes to Government policy is putting this is under threat.
#HOMESNOTSTREETS is our campaign to create stable and sustainable supported housing to protect vulnerable people from homelessness.
In particular we wish to;
- work with the Government and other providers to find a sustainable funding solution for Supported Housing;
- seek new grants to secure our provision for homeless Veterans.
Our independant report into the needs of Homeless Veterans
We have published an independant report which looks beneath the headlines of increasing homelessness amongst Veterans in the UK.
Our report “Research into the housing-related support needs of homeless veterans” looks at what makes some ex-Armed Forces personnel more susceptible to homelessness than the vast majority who make a successful transition to civilian life, and how organisations can best meet their needs.
Local Housing Allowance and the proposed cap to Housing Benefit
Since the launch of our campaign, the Government has announced a change to its plans for the LHA cap, which will see the proposal scrapped in its original form, and providers consulted on new plans. Read our response to this announcement by clicking here...
