Alabaré Alabaré - enabling a fulfilling life

Press Release

13th Sept 2007

Come and C4 yourself

If you’ve ever wondered what Community 4 (C4) does, now is the chance to find out.

C4 Kennett is holding an Open Day in Devizes to raise awareness of the services that they provide within the community.  It’s happening on Thursday 20th September in the Cromwell Rooms on Station Road between 10am and 2pm.

C4 is a consortium of four organisations - Alabaré Christian Care Centres, Splitz Support Service, Westlea Housing Association and the Drugs and Homeless Initiative.  In July 2006 they won the 4 contracts with Wiltshire County Council to provide housing-related Floating Support to the whole of Wiltshire for at least the next four years.

The majority of their work is to support people when taking up a new home and help them manage their tenancies.  It could be helping individuals understand their housing rights and responsibilities or signposting them to other services or activities within the community.  Most of their referrals come from individuals themselves, voluntary organisations, local authorities, GPs and Social Services.

C4 Manager Mel Greenstock says “We hope that as many people as possible come along and see for themselves the range of services we can offer.  We had a very successful first year and we are looking forward to many more successes in the future.”

If you are interested in attending the Open Day please could you let them know for catering purposes.  To find out more or to let them know you are coming please call Karen Frayling on 01380 723082 or email k.frayling@alabare.co.uk
