Our floating support service in Bournemouth delivers housing related support to assist individuals and households who need support to sustain or take up the offer of new accommodation. There are three elements to the service:
Move-On floating support aims to assist in the process of planned, successful move-on from accommodation-based supported housing schemes. Support can be provided for up to two years. Applications can be taken from supported housing accommodation services for single homeless or rough sleepers under contract to Bournemouth Supporting People.
Generic Homeless floating support aims to assist households who are not managing in their housing and are at risk of losing their accommodation and require support to sustain their current accommodation or need support to take up an offer and sustain new accommodation. It is a cross-client group, cross-tenure service. Support can be provided for up to two years. Applications will be prioritised from the Council’s Housing Solutions team; applications can also be taken from other agencies as well as self-referrals.
Emergency floating support aims to assist those in immediate need of support to maintain their existing accommodation or to manage the transition from homelessness. Support will be provided for up to one month, the service user can then be referred to other longer term floating support if required. Applications can be accepted from the Council’s Housing Solutions Team and also from Landlord Services for those in temporary accommodation.
