Alabaré Alabaré - enabling a fulfilling life

28th February 2011

Alabaré appeals for help finding new premises for Kitted Out!

Kitted Out! is Alabaré’s second hand clothing centre that opened in July 2009 and it is looking for a new home. It provides good quality second-hand clothing and household items free of charge to vulnerable and homeless people living in the Salisbury area. Clients have to be referred to the service from other agencies such as the Citizens Advice Bureau.

This service has proved to be vital to the city – in 2010 more than 2,350 items were issued to homeless and vulnerable people and the team has helped over 143 people, over 40 of whom were children.

The centre currently operates from 159-161 Fisherton Street in buildings kindly loaned to us by St Paul’s church when its original home in Alabaré’s own homeless hostel in Barnard’s Street began its redevelopment. Alabaré would like to thank St Paul’s for their support in accommodating this service for us for the last year.

Do you know of any premises that might be suitable and available to re-house Kitted Out! A large open space is required to enable all of the goods to be on display, the building must also be easily accessible to all.

If you know of somewhere that might be suitable please contact Yvonne Way on 01722 344472 or email y.way@alabare.co.uk. All suggestions would be very welcome.
