On Friday 24th February from 6.45 pm to 11.45 pm there is an opportunity to attend a fundraising military style dinner at RAF Boscombe Down. This is in support of Alabaré’s charitable work related to homeless ex-military personnel. The dinner is hosted by the new Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire, Sarah Troughton, and Alabaré’s Wiltshire Ambassadors. A reception will be followed by a first class meal, an auction with fabulous prizes and dancing to music from Mrs Sandy Ince. The tickets cost £75.

Alan Goddard, Drop in Centre Manager at Crisis Centre Ministries is set to sleep rough from 20th February in Bristol, Cardiff and London. His last night will be Friday 2nd March where he will join the BCAN Annual Sleep Out in the grounds of Pip 'n' Jay Church Bristol. The event is organised by The BCAN Homeless Forum ('BHF').

Alan is in his 12th year of recovery of alcohol and has in the past slept rough. The aim of this is to raise awareness of homelessness in our cities and to possibly gain a better understanding of how to help homeless people today. He is also aiming to raise funds to publish a book of the ups and downs of his life that will make you laugh and cry. All profits from this book will go to two charities.

• Crisis Centre Ministries runs a ladies night shelter; a life skills project; food bank; and the Wild Goose Drop in Centre where they feed around 400 meals a day to vulnerable people.
• Alabaré has two projects in Bristol: The Well supports women who have been in the sex industry; and Andrew House provides supported accomodation for men recovering from drug and alcohol addictions, enabling them to move on to independent living.

Calling all supporters - join us for the Annual Sleep Out!

On 2nd March 2012 Alabaré Christian Care & Support will once again be holding sponsored Sleep Out events across the region.  Building on the success of last year's events, we hope to get even more of our supporters to join us on 2nd March, braving the cold and discomfort of a night spent outdoors.  By sleeping out for one night we will raise awareness of the hardships experienced by those who are homeless, and help raise money to support those who are in real need.
