Charis House, Bideford provides supported housing for homeless men with drug or alcohol related issues.
Mission: To provide accommodation and support to 9 homeless men recovering from drug and alcohol dependency, enabling them to move into independent living.
Charis House provides accommodation and support to 9 homeless men aged 18+.
Staff at the house offer support with a range of complex issues including for some: drug, alcohol dependency, minor mental health issues such as self- medicating or low risk problems. Each client is assigned a Key Worker who will help them draw up an Individual Support Plan based on their particular needs.
Outcomes for clients
- Having the skills and confidence to move on to independent accommodation
- The ability to positively manage their tenancy and home
- Identifying, pursuing and enjoying their aspirations through training, education, employment and hobbies
- The ability to build constructive and positive relationships within the community
- An increased awareness of physical and mental well-being.
